Overview
Purdue University invites applications for multiple tenured or tenure-track faculty positions as part of a multi-department strategic faculty recruitment initiative in Integrated Health Across Lifecycle and Systems. This strategic recruitment will help advance Purdue’s One Health initiative, which seeks to tackle complex challenges at the intersection of human, animal, and plant health. The cluster aims to transform research and impact in the areas of human, animal, and environmental health by bridging silos and fostering collaboration across disciplines to address health as a continuum shaped by systems, environments, and behavior. Participating Colleges (and Departments) Include: College of Agriculture (Agriculture Economics, Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, Food Science); Daniels School of Business (Management Information Systems; Supply Chain and Operations Management; Marketing; Economics); College of Pharmacy (Pharmacy Practice); College of Liberal Arts (Sociology); College of Health and Human Sciences (Human Development and Family Science; Health and Kinesiology; Psychological Sciences; Public Health; Health Sciences; Nutrition Science; Nursing; Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences). Areas of Research Focus
We invite applications from scholars working in the following areas, or related or emerging fields that complement the cluster’s interdisciplinary goals: Workplace and Environmental Health: examining environmental exposures, occupational safety, and disparities in preventative health, with tools such as imaging, biomonitoring, and wearable technology to improve prevention, organizational practices, community training, and policy translation. Food as Medicine: integrating food science, nutritional science, and public health with clinical care to embed evidence-based dietary programs in health systems and communities, including sustainability, accessibility, and culturally informed diets. Aging, Economics/Pharmacoeconomics, and Resource Optimization: optimizing care pathways, resource allocation, and patient-centered service models for older populations using real-world data and decision-support tools. Healthcare IT, AI Applications in Healthcare, and Healthcare Marketing: analyzing information technologies and AI to improve accessibility, affordability, and quality, including technology-driven policy changes and marketing research for adoption by diverse populations. Hired faculty will join an interdisciplinary ecosystem of centers and institutes, including: Accessible Precision Audiology Research Center (Indianapolis); Center on Aging and the Life Course (CALC); Dauch Center for the Management of Manufacturing Enterprises; Krenicki Center for Business Analytics and Machine Learning; Purdue University Research Center in Economics (PURCE); Center for Rural and Migrant Health; Center for Health Analytics and Therapeutic Intelligence; Life Science MRI Facility; Whistler Center for Carbohydrate Research; Food Entrepreneurship and Manufacturing Institute; Center for Food Demand Analysis & Sustainability. This initiative supports Purdue’s One Health vision and leadership in health, food, and economic innovation. Qualifications
A Ph.D. in food science, nutrition, management information systems, information technology, operations management, management science, marketing, economics, psychology, sociology, or a related scientific or healthcare discipline by the start of the appointment A record of research excellence and productivity commensurate with rank Demonstrated potential or record of interdisciplinary collaboration and impactful scholarship Commitment to teaching and student mentorship Application Process
