Job Summary

Provides support to various research studies and performs duties such as assisting with recruitment and retention efforts, intervention activities and the collection and handling of biospecimen samples. This position will support two projects: AMETHST is a national cohort of HIV-negative individuals examining whether methamphetamine use alters immune function. MATTER is a study that aims to improve the health of individuals living with HIV and substance use disorders.

Conducts in-person and remote study visits including screening, obtain informed consent, administers study measures, conducts intervention sessions, and collects biospecimen samples (e.g., blood, urine, fecal samples, hair and rectal swabs). Handles biospecimen samples and ensures proper collection, labeling, and storage. Coordinates with laboratories for drop-off/shipping, receives assay results, and logs data. Assists in the coordination and execution of recruitment-based activities to ensure enrollment targets are continuously met through social media campaigns, community-based recruitment, and medical provider relationships. Coordinates and maintains relationships with community partners and community-based agencies (CBOs) to assist with recruitment efforts, dissemination of study results and research lab visibility. Collects and maintains data, assists with data quality assurance (QA), learns about database design, data cleaning, analytic methods and contributes to scientific presentations and manuscripts. Participates in team meetings, prepares reports, meeting minutes and reports to the project manager with study updates. Maintains regulatory documents related to studies including logs, IRB submissions, study team certifications to ensure regulatory compliance. Abides by all Good Clinical Practice (GCP), institutional and governing regulatory committee rules and regulations. Continuously evaluates research plans, identifies problems and provides recommended solutions. Assists senior staff with preparation of study reports, presentations and manuscripts.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience.
