Job Description Purpose Corporate Senior Accountant is a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of core financial processes. This position supports the monthly close cycle, prepares detailed balance sheet reconciliations, and performs variance analysis to provide insights into financial performance and trends. With a strong understanding of the business and a focus on continuous improvement, the Senior Accountant partners with corporate and branch-level teams and enhances reporting consistency. Through diligent execution and collaboration, this role contributes to the development of timely, reliable financial statements and disclosures that support informed decision‑making and uphold compliance with US GAAP.
Key Responsibilities Accounting
Serve as the primary accounting contact for executive and corporate department leaders, providing accounting support and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements delivering clear insights into financial performance.
Process and monitor complex journal entries ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper supporting documentation.
Perform monthly allocations to all branches and validate intercompany transactions to ensure accurate and balanced reporting across entities.
Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, proactively identifying and resolving variances while maintaining audit‑ready documentation.
Review and approve invoice coding for the corporate office and ensure timely recording of Virtual Employee invoices and ACH payments.
Record and track earning credits for corporate entities and branches ensuring consistency and accuracy across all records.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including senior management, branch presidents, and accounting teams, to provide clarity and support around financial results.
Manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast‑paced environment, ensuring timely completion of all accounting tasks and reporting requirements.
Demonstrate proactive critical thinking skills, identifying root causes of discrepancies or inefficiencies and implementing effective solutions to improve processes and accuracy.
Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate support for external and internal audits.
Contribute to system and process enhancements, including automation initiatives and ERP upgrades, to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements Education / Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
5 years of experience in accounting required.
Combination of public and industry experience is a plus.
CPA or CPA candidate – strongly preferred.
Skills / Other Requirements
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Direct experience with monthly close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Proven ability to perform and explain variance analysis across financial statements.
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., D365 preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives and cross‑functional collaboration.
Experience working with multi‑entity or multi‑location organizations is a plus.
Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline‑driven environment.
Strong customer orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with previous company owners and their accounting teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proactive problem‑solver with the ability to identify root causes and implement efficient, concise solutions.
Collaborative mindset with experience working across corporate and branch‑level teams to drive consistency and process improvement.
