Pay Base pay range: $93,659 - $118,388 per year.
Duties and Responsibilities
Represent ITS in administrative proceedings, including employee disciplinary arbitrations, hearings before the State Division of Human Rights and U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Research, advise, and provide assistance and interpretations on employment and labor relations issues.
Research, advise, and support pending and potential litigation involving ITS.
Support other entities' legal representation of ITS, including the Office of the Attorney General and the Office of Employee Relations.
Draft and apply ITS regulations, policies and guidelines on electronic signatures, online privacy, IT security, identity and access management, website accessibility, acceptable use and social media use.
Draft and interpret inter-agency agreements and other legal documents including collective bargaining agreements.
Draft and review legislation related to provision of IT services and related programs.
Assist on other special projects and assignments as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or an eligible title, AND admission to the New York State Bar.
Applicant must meet qualifications for the NY HELPs program (non-competitive appointment). Candidates may apply under Assistant Attorney 1, 2, 3 or Senior Attorney titles.
For NY HELPs positions, no examination required; candidates must meet title minimums. After a temporary appointment, position may convert to permanent non-competitive status.
