About Us Sunday builds the future of hospitality payments — fast, simple, human. We’re a global team on a mission to make every restaurant experience seamless.
We’re scaling fast in the US and looking for a People Business Partner USA who will act as a true strategic partner to our leaders — ensuring our teams are well supported, our operations run flawlessly, and our People strategy stays one step ahead of the business.
About The Role As the People Business Partner USA, you’ll be the key HR partner for our US managers, driving operational excellence, anticipating people topics before they escalate, and building a high‑performing, engaged, and scalable organization. You’ll also co‑lead the global HR operations roadmap, ensuring Sunday’s People foundations are robust, automated, and built for growth.
Key Responsibilities
Partner closely with US managers to anticipate people topics across teams before they become issues: engagement, performance, team structure, and growth.
Coach and advise managers through complex or sensitive situations (performance management, team dynamics, compensation, or career development).
Help leaders structure and scale their teams, defining the right roles, ownerships, and success criteria.
Own and operate payroll for all US entities: no delays, no errors, full compliance on salary, benefits, and bonuses.
Lead all people admin topics with speed, accuracy, and clarity: respond to critical queries within 1 hour, medium priority within 6 hours, and lower priority within 24 hours.
Keep all systems (HiBob, Notion, Slack) 100% accurate and reliable: org charts, policies, and team data fully updated at the end of each day.
Lead process improvements across HR operations: automate manual flows, evaluate new tools, and leverage AI or integrations to improve speed and precision.
Lead on contracts, amendments, and probations with rigor and speed; ensure zero missed follow‑up or compliance gaps.
Ensure performance cycles (scorecards, feedback cadence, reviews) are tracked, updated, and respected.
Act as the HR reference for employees and managers on policies, compensation, and development pathways.
Co‑lead the HR operations roadmap to improve tools, processes, and cross‑market scalability.
Monitor market insights on compensation, benefits, and culture trends across the US to keep Sunday competitive and compliant.
Identify engagement levers across the US team and partner with managers to design meaningful rituals, recognition, and growth opportunities.
Represent Sunday’s culture locally and ensure our values (simple, trust, beyond) are visible in how we work and lead.
Act as a sparring partner to managers: challenge thinking, bring clarity, and help them make people decisions faster and smarter.
About You
5+ years of experience in HR Business Partnering or People Operations, ideally in a fast‑scaling or tech environment.
Deep understanding of US employment law, payroll, and benefits.
You combine operational excellence with a strategic mindset: you can both “do” and “think ahead.”
Strong coaching and advisory skills, comfortable challenging managers with empathy and clarity.
Excellent judgment and discretion when handling sensitive topics.
Data‑driven, systems‑oriented, and constantly improving processes.
You thrive in fast‑paced environments, across time zones and cultures.
Compensation, Perks & Benefits
Location: Atlanta, New York City or Chicago preferred.
