In the role of the Regional Business Development Director you’ll work with nearly 1,500 technical professionals to manage all aspects of water as HDR serves the Southeast region. You’ll develop unique strategies, identify team synergies, and solve the most complex challenges facing our clients. You’ll build strong relationships with HDR’s clients in the water planning and design industry and understand their mission, vision, culture and goals to leverage HDR’s capabilities. You will report to the East Region Water Business Group Director and will maintain the strategic perspective to communicate market sector initiatives and strategies to geographic operational business units. The Regional BG Director coordinates, develops and supports the implementation of market sector strategic plans (Drinking Water, Federal Water, Wastewater, Water Resources) to identify, develop and drive opportunities to achieve current-year goals and develop Major Campaigns for future years. Primary Role & Responsibilities

Path to Goal – In coordination with the Director of Business Development, identify, monitor and support attainment of Regional net fee booked plan using the Path to Goal concept to drive consistent communication across the Water organization. Strategic Client Development Leadership & Assistance – Assist/collaborate with Water leadership in defining and engaging strategy for regional clients. Strategic and Sector Pursuit Leadership/Major Campaign Coordination – Lead Major Campaigns in the $5–$20M range; drive identification, development and qualification of Regional Major Campaign opportunities. Strategic Initiative Development – Engage Market Sector/Area Client Development staff in developing and executing key market sector initiatives identified during strategic planning and annual alignment meetings. Alignment of Resources – Coordinate internal resource alignment to client needs and Path to Goal objectives. Secondary Responsibilities – NFB and Marketing Cost Tracking – Monitor and communicate progress toward period and annual net fee bookings goals; observe trends and adjust projections to achieve targets. Other Initiatives – Strategic Planning – Assist in developing annual strategic planning efforts; Controlling – Monitor region operational metrics; Staffing – Support prioritization of strategic hires and candidate recruitment. Location Flexibility – This position can be located in any established HDR office within the defined Southeast Region. Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications Local candidates are preferred Experience in developing and supporting growth strategy implementation Proven ability to develop and manage the marketing and business development teams in the Southeast Region (North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia/Alabama, Kentucky/Tennessee, Florida/Puerto Rico) Required Qualifications Minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience Self-starter with a history of completing projects with limited oversight Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry’s procurement of professional services Ability to motivate and inspire others; build a network of clients and industry partners Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability and willingness to travel and engage with others in-person Experience in growing programs in new or highly competitive markets Experience in winning high-value contracts in the A/E/C industry Experience in writing compelling content based on information from technical staff What We Believe & Commitment
