Position Summary Walmart Healthcare Research Institute (WHRI) helps communities Live Better and Save Money by increasing access to healthcare through research. Join our team and drive Business Development to help revolutionize clinical research growth in a Fortune 1 environment. You will work on-site in Bentonville, AR and report to the Senior Director of Business Development.
About Our Team Our team operates at the intersection of healthcare and retail, focusing on developing groundbreaking research operations. By integrating clinical research into Walmart's ecosystem, we aim to enhance healthcare outcomes and support Walmart Health & Wellness strategic direction.
Responsibilities
Drive Sales Initiatives: Lead end-to-end sales efforts and manage the complete deal lifecycle for assigned accounts, including both prospecting for new opportunities and nurturing existing relationships.
Manage Contracting & Proposals: Oversee the proposal and contracting processes to secure project funding and team resources.
Collaborate on RFP/RFI Submissions: Work closely with the Inside Sales and Sales Operations team to prepare comprehensive responses to RFPs and RFIs.
Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure effective partnership and communication with internal and external stakeholders within a matrixed organizational structure.
Project Oversight: Monitor and communicate project budgets, timelines, and scope changes to all partners, ensuring alignment with client and company objectives.
CRM Management: Maintain a detailed and updated sales pipeline for assigned accounts within the company CRM system.
Commitment to Integrity: Uphold the company's high standards of ethics and integrity across all business practices and initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
Proven Industry Expertise: Demonstrated success in business development and account management within the pharmaceutical industry (ideally clinical trials, healthcare analytics, and/or healthcare technology).
Contracting & Proposal Experience: Accomplished in negotiation, proposal development, and managing RFP/RFI processes.
Leadership & Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Adaptability: Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic, and matrixed environment.
Technical Proficiency: Experience using CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) to track and manage pipeline activities effectively.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related area and 15 years’ experience in global matrix drug development research and operational strategies.
Prior work experience in project/program management, including risk assessment, timeline and budget management, and contingency planning.
Prior work experience leading cross-functional matrix teams.
