Overview Everyone is trying to "harness the power of the cloud," but not everyone knows how. As a cloud computing application architect, you know how to build a cloud-based technical architecture that meets client needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. What if you could use your cloud architecture skills to improve delivery of key satellite communications? We need you to help us develop cloud-based solutions for some of the nation’s toughest challenges.

Responsibilities

Design a secure, cloud-based communications network to support mission‑critical operations.

Use the latest cloud technologies to improve client environments.

Work with migration teams to inform strategy, design, and ensure standards are met throughout the cloud migration process.

Recommend tools and solutions based on research of the current environment and knowledge of various on‑premise, cloud‑based, and hybrid resources.

Lead your team as they help the client overcome their most difficult challenges in the cloud.

Broaden your skill set in areas like automation and cloud‑based security while developing critical systems for national defense.

Qualifications You Have:

5+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud‑native applications using microservices, serverless functions, API gateways, and containers, including Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience designing and implementing computer and information networks such as LAN, WAN, intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks.

Experience performing network modeling, analysis, and planning.

Experience in CI/CD pipeline development with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.

Experience in server automation using Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or SaltStack.

Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), network security, data encryption, vulnerability management, and security auditing.

Secret clearance.

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems and 4+ years of experience in software engineering, or 9+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree.

Nice If You Have:

Experience with space systems or satellite communications.

Experience with tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates, or IaC technologies to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.

Experience configuring and managing virtual networks, subnets, routing, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and networking components within a cloud environment.

Knowledge of AWS Cloud Edge Global Access (CEGA) framework.

Ability to work in development environments using JavaScript and AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).

TS/SCI clearance.

Master’s degree.

AWS Certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.

Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Compensation Project salary range: $86,800 – $198,000 (annualized USD). Benefits include health, life, disability, financial, and retirement plans, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care. Full‑time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible for Booz Allen’s benefit programs. The posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.

Work Model
