The successful candidate will be a key contributor to many departmental goals/objectives and lead multiple projects impacting PTC’s worldwide finance community. You will have the opportunity to interface across multiple functional organizations outside of the revenue team, as well as work closely with colleagues across the broader revenue team to understand both revenue recognition complexities and various financial analyses. Ideal candidates will be action-oriented and enjoy a fast‑paced atmosphere where the ability to multi‑task and strong analytical and collaboration skills are a must.

PTC is undergoing a transformation to transition our business into a best‑in‑class subscription company with cloud‑based and on‑premise offerings. The Revenue Assurance team is responsible for navigating the complexities associated with our transition to a new business model, the adoption of new regulatory rules and the revenue impact, ensuring that our systems recognize revenue properly and the accounting treatment is in accordance with US GAAP. We are a highly motivated, high‑performing multi‑national organization with team members in the US, Europe and Asia.

Day‑To‑Day

Perform contract reviews for revenue‑related contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment under ASC 606 and document conclusions

Review, recalculate, and analyze the accounting of revenue contracts in the revenue accounting automation system and communicate any required adjustments and/or revenue judgments to the Revenue Accounting team

Interact with Deal Desk, Legal, Operations and Sales during contract negotiations/non‑standard deal modeling gaining an understanding of the deal structure and identify facts that might impact revenue recognition and reporting.

Assist in updating internal revenue policies and procedures and ensure procedures are followed in compliance with the Company’s SOX controls

Coordinate and/or review and respond to internal and external audit queries for corporate quarterly and annual audits to ensure auditors are receiving required information in an accurate and timely manner.

Clarify operating procedures and help drive process improvement initiatives

Assist in the compilation of various financial statement disclosures

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

Understanding of general accounting principles and standards (knowledge of ASC 606 software revenue recognition preferred)

Ability to research accounting guidance and apply to new business offerings

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines

Intellectual curiosity and creativity

Ability to analyze and interpret data sets

Strong attention to detail, time management, organization and communication skills

Excellent communication skills: able to clearly communicate information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing

Demonstrated business acumen and ability to deal with ambiguity and understand PTC’s business drivers

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

1‑4 years of experience in accounting, finance or related field (Public Accounting firm experience a plus)
