Base Pay Range $280,000.00/yr - $400,000.00/yr
Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
Duties
VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package
The General Dentistry dental officer shall be proficient in all aspects of general dentistry including the ability to perform selected specialty services
Specifically - the provider should possess the expertise and competency to perform the following: Diagnose radiographic examinations of the oral cavity
Diagnose pathological or irregular oral conditions
Administer local anesthesia
Administer moderate sedation
Perform simple and complex extractions of teeth
Perform alveoloplasty and other pre-prosthetic surgery.
Place dental implants
Treatment of benign tumors of the maxillofacial region
Surgical and non-surgical treatment of TMJ
Repair of simple and complex facial fractures
Knowledge of digital systems including implant surgical guide planning
Use of various bone grafting techniques for reconstruction of the jaws
Ability to perform H & P for operative cases
Competent in BLS and ACLS
Duties include oversight of 2 OMS residents from Meharry and Vanderbilt
OMS practice includes complex extraction cases - dental implants - bone grafting - TMJ surgical and non-surgical treatment - facial pain - benign pathology - pre-prosthetic surgery - knowledge of digital systems - and collaboration with staff dentists/specialists
The scope of practice that a specific provider may perform is defined through the medical center credentialing and privileging process
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM CST Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position
