Overview A Supervisor should support the management team, act as a resource for all departments, model excellent customer service, drive sales, and solve problems skillfully.

Responsibilities As a Supervisor in Store Operations, you will spend most of your time handling the cash office, communicating with Home Office, resolving merchandise payable matters, matching and processing invoices to ensure product availability, and providing support across departments.

Expectations

Examine shipments, compare with records, and verify accuracy.

Record shipment data, determine space requirements, and report damage or discrepancies.

Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders.

Correspond with representatives to resolve issues like damages or shortages.

Pack, seal, label, or affix postage for shipping.

Use hand tools, power tools, online shipping services, or postage meters.

Maintain a working knowledge of all store departments to provide support and guidance.

Help resolve customer issues and complaints, escalating to management when needed.

Assist in daily store operations, acting as Manager‑on‑Duty in the manager’s absence.

Assist with work assignment and direction to team members for multi‑project execution.

Process sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments when required.

Work at least 30 hours weekly full‑time year round; schedules may vary.

Perform routine housekeeping: dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal.

Physical Demands

Frequent movement within the store to access various departments.

Ability to maintain stationary position for extended periods.

Frequent lifting; occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.

Pay Transparency Information (Only applicable in DC stores) Full‑time BNC Starbucks Licensee Supervisor pay range: $19.50/hour.

Qualifications

2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred.

Minimum age 18.

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Outstanding customer service skills.

Basic reading, writing, and accounting skills.

Excellent communication skills.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
