Site Safety Business Partner - East Coast Summary:

The Site Safety Business Partner will play a vital role in driving a culture of safety excellence across all WesTech Engineering LLC projects. Responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining site‑specific safety programs and ensuring full compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and company regulations. Effective communicator and leader needed to influence safety behavior, conduct site audits, deliver training, and proactively address safety risks across diverse job sites. Remote location possible, frequent travel to operational sites required.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead by example to promote and embed a proactive safety culture across all WesTech job sites.

Implement and manage comprehensive site safety plans ensuring the safety of WesTech employees, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.

Conduct environmental assessments / action plans of water treatment facilities and maintenance yards.

Conduct daily site monitoring to verify compliance with standards and company safety policies.

Organize and lead regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and mandatory safety training sessions.

Perform safety inspections on tools, machinery, and work areas to identify and mitigate hazards.

Conduct thorough incident and injury investigations, documenting findings and reporting to upper management.

Collaborate with management to develop action plans addressing compliance issues and corrective measures.

Maintain accurate records of safety activities, training, inspections, and incident reports.

Educate employees through onsite safety training courses in areas such as fall protection, confined space, excavation, scaffolding, and electrical safety.

Perform site audits and hazard assessments for both existing and upcoming construction and operating sites.

Oversee the development and review of critical lift plans for equipment erection, tank installations, heavy lifts, and material offloading.

Serve as a mediator for resolving safety‑related concerns between clients, site owners, and contractors.

Clearly communicate and enforce job‑specific safety rules and expectations to all personnel and visitors.

Support the scheduling, reporting, and administration of safety and compliance activities within the organization and specific business units.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum 3–5 years of safety management experience in construction, engineering, industrial, or water/wastewater environments.

OSHA 30‑Hour Certification (Required).

Proven knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, ANSI, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to train and influence others.

Proficient in conducting safety investigations, writing reports, implementing programs, and maintaining documentation.

Ability to travel regularly to WesTech and customer sites in the USA & Canada.

Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced project environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

OSHA 500/510 and MSHA Certification.

Certified First Aid/CPR/AED Trainer.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to use a workstation with computer/phone.

Some lifting (up to 50 lbs).

Inspection of equipment at job sites or fabrication shops, involving bending, stooping, walking on ladders, catwalks, and heights.

Use of safety harnesses and PPE; exposure to elements (cold, heat, wet).

Extended periods of standing and walking in construction or industrial environments.
