The VP IKC Operations role leads Value‑Based Care (VBC) operations for kidney care. This leader is responsible for the general management and oversight of the VBC programs, clinical outcomes, and physician partnerships of DaVita Integrated Kidney Care (IKC). The role focuses on the Northwest portion of the U.S., primarily Northern California, Oregon, and Washington (internally referred to as “Polaris”). The position provides operational leadership, counsel, and direction to directors and management staff to improve overall health outcomes for patients. It works closely with operational and business leadership, provides clinical guidance, and has budget and P&L accountability. The VP IKC Operations reports directly to the DaVita IKC Chief Operating Officer.
Duties And Responsibilities
Accountable for P&L performance of ~$800M annual medical cost under management
Manage, develop, and train a team of clinical and non‑clinical teammates
Work with nephrology practices and other healthcare providers across the geography to positively impact patient outcomes and deliver favorable economic returns
Lead the development and execution of clinical interventions to achieve clinical operational performance and outcomes
Maintain collaborative working relationships with all levels of management and partner physicians
Maintain awareness and knowledge of the assigned market and participate in internal and external business development meetings, as applicable
Participate in the development and management of clinical operations and capital budgets
Other duties as assigned
Travel: 20-40%
Day‑to‑day activities include: assessing and driving against opportunities in business performance with the care teams, building physician relationships, meeting with practices, team management including regular team meetings, coordination across the DaVita enterprise on key initiatives, monitoring operating results/reports, delivering monthly operating reviews, growing and developing IKC program and teammates
Ideal Candidate
Operational leader for clinical teams including management of nurses, care coordinators, and other healthcare staff
Value‑based care experience
Physician interaction and behavior change experience
Strong operations and business acumen; engaging and fun culture‑builder
Education And Experience
8+ years of operational leadership; leading robust, regional teams
Experience managing budgets and driving metrics
Preferred experience in healthcare, particularly value‑based care
