Job Summary Responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships with corporate entities, the Director of Industry Engagement at Purdue Polytechnic Institute plays a crucial role in advancing the mission to prepare Polytechnic graduates to meet the technological complexities of tomorrow. This role involves identifying and cultivating relationships, securing industry sponsorships and funding, and aligning corporate engagement efforts with Polytechnic priorities. The director will oversee outreach initiatives, negotiate partnership agreements, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to maximize corporate involvement and impact. The position will work closely with the Dean and other stakeholders (e.g., Associate Dean for Research, Department Heads, Chief Development Officer) to shape the industry engagement future of Polytechnic and ensure it aligns with the workforce needs of industry, particularly in the context of Industry 4.0.

What We Are Looking For Education and Experience

Qualified Candidates Will Need

Bachelor’s degree

A minimum of 8 to 9 years of experience in strategic planning, project management, and leadership in an academic or industry-related context

Skills Needed

Demonstrated record of building partnerships, particularly in the technology space

Excellent organization skills; agile is a plus

Ability to coordinate dozens of projects simultaneously

Immediately responsive with excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to interact well with faculty, students, and corporate partners

Proficient at discussing legal, technical, and financial agreements

Ability to travel ~25% of the time

Knowledge and understanding of the Polytechnic education model and its significance in preparing graduates for the technological complexities of tomorrow

Familiarity with principles of fundraising and industry partnerships

Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills

Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse set of stakeholders, both internal and external
