The Role The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the full vertical construction process of 7+ projects to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and meet all quality, safety, and local regulations. The Superintendent must ensure all information is input into the system in real time to allow for an accurate and updated project status.

Day in the Life

Oversee the vertical construction process for 5‑9 projects, managing each stage from permitting to home delivery (and first‑year warranty if required).

Maintain accurate construction schedules, ensuring trade partners, material deliveries, and inspections meet all requirements and remain on track.

Ensure all contractors and partners meet TJH construction standards and jurisdictional requirements at every site and stage of the build process.

Act as the company’s primary representative on the job site with employees, contractors, trade partners, buyers, and government inspectors.

Manage contractors and team members, including initiating change orders, approving completed tasks, withholding payments for unsatisfactory or incomplete work, and inspecting work prior to approval.

Meet or exceed established cycle‑time goals per job to ensure on‑time and on‑budget performance.

May oversee Assistant Construction Managers, providing training and feedback to foster their growth.

Maintain a safe work site by implementing good housekeeping regulations, enforcing safety habits, and observing OSHA and state agency regulations.

Facilitate weekly safety meetings with staff and trade partners.

Ensure quality checkpoints are completed and provide daily status updates on the construction progress for each unit.

What You’ll Need

High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2‑4 years of experience in construction.

Valid driver’s license.

Proven ability to deliver increasingly complex work.

What Will Set You Apart

Advanced understanding of all stages of the homebuilding process, including permitting, horizontal and vertical construction, quality standards, and construction requirements.

Expert knowledge of construction processes, standards, requirements, and techniques to observe contractors and evaluate compliance with all standards and governmental requirements.

Ability to read and interpret floor plans and hold contractors accountable to meet all requirements and quality standards.

The compensation range for this role is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
