D2Solar is seeking a Product Development Engineer to join our growing engineering team and help deliver world-class specialty solar modules to cutting-edge technology companies worldwide. This role is highly cross‑functional, spanning design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support, to bring innovative solar hardware from concept to production. You’ll be hands‑on in both hardware and software development, working to meet client requirements while driving efficiency, quality, and throughput in manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, prototyping, and validation of innovative solar hardware solutions.

Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to research, design, test, and qualify solar components and assemblies.

Develop both hardware and software tools to enable specialty solar product manufacturing and improve production throughput.

Drive R&D initiatives from early concept through feasibility studies, prototyping, and design refinement.

Perform root cause and failure analysis to resolve complex manufacturing and performance challenges.

Recommend and implement design or process changes to meet client specifications and enhance manufacturability.

Integrate process improvements across the product line in coordination with manufacturing teams.

Contribute to brainstorming sessions, concept development, and rapid prototyping for next‑generation solar technologies.

Uphold D2Solar’s collaborative, learning‑driven approach to innovation and problem‑solving.

Qualifications

2+ years of professional engineering experience.

BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.

Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work across a variety of technical domains.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document designs and results.

Comfortable working in a small‑team environment and contributing to company growth.

Willingness to work on‑site in a 9/80 schedule, with some flexibility for hybrid arrangements.

Experience in solar, semiconductor, aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, or similar industries preferred.
