Overview
Macdonald & Company has been exclusively retained by a private equity real estate investment firm to appoint a Vice President, Capital Raising based in Miami, Florida. The position will support the firm’s continued growth across its multifamily and private credit platforms, reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer and Partners.
About the Company Our client is a private real estate investment and management firm with a successful track record acquiring, renovating, and operating institutional-quality multifamily properties across the Southeastern United States. The platform partners with a sophisticated investor base that includes family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and select institutional investors.
The firm has established a strong pipeline of value-add multifamily opportunities and manages a growing portfolio of stabilized assets. In addition to its core multifamily strategy, the company also operates a private credit platform providing short-term, asset-backed loans to real estate investors and developers—offering diversified, fixed-income exposure to its investor network.
Position Summary The Vice President, Capital Raising will play a critical role in executing the firm’s capital formation strategy across both its equity and credit investment vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess a strong capital-raising background within private real estate or alternative investments, along with an established network of private wealth, family office, and RIA relationships.
This individual will work closely with firm leadership to plan, execute, and oversee all fundraising activities, investor communications, and relationship management initiatives, ensuring a cohesive approach to messaging and branding across the platform.
Key Responsibilities
Source and raise equity capital for the firm’s multifamily funds, co-investment vehicles, and credit products from HNWIs, UHNWIs, family offices, and RIAs.
Develop and implement strategic fundraising plans to attract new private wealth investors and expand the firm’s investor base.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing investors through consistent communication, reporting, and relationship management.
Collaborate with senior leadership and the investment team to develop offering materials, investor presentations, and marketing collateral.
Clearly articulate the firm’s investment strategy, track record, and market outlook to both existing and prospective investors.
Maintain the firm’s CRM system, ensuring accurate tracking of investor interactions, commitments, and pipeline activity.
Monitor fundraising trends, investor sentiment, and competitive positioning to identify new capital opportunities.
Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and investor meetings to enhance visibility and brand awareness.
Partner with the credit investment team to communicate fund performance, pipeline, and portfolio metrics to investors.
Identify cross-selling opportunities across the firm’s equity and credit investor networks.
Qualifications
7–12 years of experience in capital formation, investor relations, or fundraising within real estate private equity, private credit, or alternative investments.
Demonstrated success raising capital from private wealth channels including HNWIs, family offices, and RIAs.
Strong understanding of real estate investing and private credit (bridge or hard money lending experience a plus).
Established investor relationships with a proven ability to close commitments.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Highly organized, data-driven, and experienced with CRM systems and pipeline management.
Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and self-motivated, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in finance or real estate preferred.
