Summary The Senior Director of Foundations Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategies and initiatives that support the fundraising efforts of the Memorial Healthcare System (HMS) and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundations. This position works closely with the Foundations President, Foundation Team, Senior Leadership, and various stakeholders to optimize processes, enhance donor engagement, and drive fundraising efficiencies and effectiveness. The Senior Director has direct management and oversight of the Foundations Operations Team, Corporate and Grant Philanthropy, Annual Giving and Foundations Marketing and Communications.
Responsibilities
Compliance and Best Practices: Ensures compliance with all legal and ethical standards related to fundraising and donor engagement, and stays informed of industry trends.
Cross‑Departmental Collaboration: Partners with marketing, communication and finance departments to ensure cohesive messaging and efficient resource allocation.
Team Development and Leadership: Leads, mentors and develops the team responsible for revenue generation and foundations operations, providing training and support in best practices.
Data Management and Analytics: Establishes and maintains robust data management systems to track donor engagement and fundraising performance, and utilizes analytics to drive decision‑making.
Operational Management: Oversees the planning, execution and evaluation of all fundraising operations, including campaigns, donor relations and engagement.
Strategic Leadership: Develops and implements operational strategies that align with the Foundations’ fundraising goals, and collaborates with the Foundations President to set performance metrics.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree (required). Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration or related field.
Experience: Minimum ten (10) years of experience in advancement operations, fundraising, or related areas, with a proven track record of leadership.
Preferred: Master’s degree.
Skills: Strong analytical skills, data‑driven decision making, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholders, proficiency with fundraising software and CRM systems, ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
