Physician - Hematology/Oncology (Regular - Full Time)
The Columbus VA Ambulatory Care Center in Columbus, OH is looking for a full‑time board‑certified or board‑eligible Hematology/Oncology physician to join our team. The position will provide comprehensive consultative outpatient Hematologic and Oncologic care, including patient visits, chemotherapeutic prescribing, bone marrow aspirations and biopsies, and documentation in the Electronic Health Record. The duty location is Columbus, OH. The appointment is authorized for the Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment).
Base pay range $275,000.00/yr - $400,000.00/yr

Qualifications To qualify for this position you must meet the basic requirements listed below and may additionally meet any qualifying criteria listed as preferred. Applicants who are pending completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met.
United States citizenship (non‑citizens may be appointed only when no qualified citizens are available).
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from a U.S. institution approved by the VA for the year the program was completed.
Full, unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
Completed residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, leading to board certification in a core specialty (Hematology/Oncology).
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Ability to work in a patient care setting that is adequately lighted, temperature controlled, and ventilated; exposure to routine noise and dust uncommon.
Preferred Certification:
Hematology‑Oncology board certification.
Duties
Provide outpatient Hematology/Oncology care to Veteran patients, including seeing patients in clinic, prescribing chemotherapy and supportive medications, and performing bone marrow aspirations/biopsies.
Document clinical encounters promptly in the electronic health record.
Maintain accurate procedural data and generate monthly, quarterly, semi‑annual, and annual departmental reports.
Attend section and quality committee meetings and other administrative functions.
Develop and update department policies and procedures in compliance with Joint Commission guidelines.
