The Program Manager for Aerospace Engineering,

Unmanned Aerial Systems ( UAS ) , exists to enable and advance applied research and development and testing for UAS related capabilities and technologies, both internally within the college and in collaborations with external partners or customers. A primary goal of the position is to ensure the safe and effective design, creation, and integration of various UAS technologies including airframes, avionics and flight controls, sensors, payloads and payload interfaces, ground control stations, and other related items. The position supports technical projects enabled through grants, contracts, and internal investment working for the Associate Director for Applied Research and Development, UAS, as well as other senior personnel, technicians and specialists in the UAS Department. The potential minimum compensation for this position begins at $65,000.00 and is commensurate with education and experience. Why work for Sinclair College? In coordination with the Sinclair Chief Resource Officer and Associate Director for Applied Research and Development, this position assists with and leads technical projects to include the following: Prototype production Component integration and testing Technical documentation In addition this position will: Work with traditional aircraft, ground, or maritime vehicles and associated technologies Attend industry and trade conferences, opportunity solicitation briefings and other meetings, both in the U.S. and internationally, in pursuit of UAS revenue opportunities Support the activities of the UAS Department as required for UAS operations, including event facilitation Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Director and Chief Scientist, UAS and the Associate Director for Applied Research and Development, UAS Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering, or related field required; master’s degree in related field preferred Minimum of two years’ relevant engineering work experience required Background in aviation with traditional and UAS related experience preferred Current or ability to obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration ( FAA ) preferred Current or ability to obtain a FAA Second Class Medical preferred Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external customers and partners required Proven prior exceptional strategic planning and project management experience preferred Strong people management, team building, team interaction and conflict resolution skills required Strong organizational and analytical skills required Experience with Intellectual Property (IP) development, commercialization and transfer, including issues related to licensure, royalties and protection preferred Excellent oral, listening, and written communication skills, to include experience in preparing and delivering proposals, reports and presentations required Flight experience and/or rating in traditional aircraft and UAS preferred Strong skills with data analysis, design support, modeling and simulation programs, or tools (e.g. Matlab, Python, CAD programs, Systems Tool Kit, Pix4D) required Strong PC skills including standard office tools, proposal development and UAS industry specific software packages required U.S. Passport preferred Supplemental Questions
