Payroll Specialist (Construction Industry)

Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Our client is looking for an experienced
Payroll Specialist
to join their corporate office in
Corona, CA . This is a
100% in-office ,
Monday–Friday
role with a long-established, stable construction company. The position is open due to growth, we are actively seeking strong
temp-to-hire
candidates.
Pay Range:
$26–$28/hr. Key Responsibilities:
Process weekly
multi-state, in-house payroll
in compliance with federal and state regulations
Handle
union and certified payroll , including prevailing wage compliance
Manage garnishments, off-cycle payrolls, direct deposits, and PTO processing
Assist with
audits ,
GL reconciliations , and
Certified Payroll reporting
Coordinate payroll activity across multiple job sites
Work closely with Accounting and HR teams
Maintain confidentiality and data accuracy at all times
What We’re Looking For:
2+ years of in-house payroll experience (construction industry preferred)
Strong
Excel skills
(Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
Familiarity with
union payroll ,
certified payroll , and
prevailing wage
Knowledge of
California payroll laws , including
meal/break premiums
Experience with
Construction ERPs
(ECMS, HCSS, HeavyJob, etc.)
Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to meet deadlines
Excellent communication and time management skills
Associate's Degree preferred, but not required with relevant experience
