Established and thriving CPA firm headquartered in Birmingham, AL is looking for an Accountant (preferably CPA, active or inactive) to join immediately. This is not a micromanaging environment— this person will have the ability to self-review to ensure their work's accuracy and should demonstrate a willingness to have an all hands‑on‑deck mentality!
We are hiring full‑time and part‑time Accountants. Remote, onsite or hybrid options. Stay‑at‑home parents are encouraged to apply.
Tax preparation software: Prosystem FX Tax (required)
Time management software: CCH Practice Management (preferred).
Responsibilities
Manage tax returns and financial statements.
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts for new stores.
Work with entities to receive and post all monthly general ledger downloads into QuickBooks.
Analyze reconciliations and provide recommendations for correction and improvement.
Perform research and respond to clients.
Have an intermediate understanding of accounting fundamentals (e.g., Deferred Revenue, AR Allowance methods, FX conversions, etc.).
Prepare and review journal entries.
Reconcile and review bank accounts and all other general ledger accounts.
Assist with audit inquiries as needed.
Prepare quarterly board pages as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and minimum 5+ years of related experience (1-2 Public Accounting or Upper Level Accountant in private industry).
CPA preferred.
Tax preparation software: Prosystem FX Tax (required).
Time management software: CCH Practice Management (not required).
Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
