Responsibilities
Assume leadership roles within the department and the institution, including participation in committees and governance activities.
Participate in curriculum and program development.
Work collegially and collaboratively within the college community.
Engage in ongoing professional development.
Create a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction.
Effectively engage with and facilitate authentic learning for students of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.
Adapt teaching pedagogy to individual students and each class; self‑reflect and respond to evidence‑based assessment of student learning.
Demonstrate experience and commitment to integrating new technologies, including interactive technologies for on‑campus and online courses.
Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Qualifications
Unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in German.
Master’s degree in German.
Bachelor’s degree in German and a master’s degree in another language or linguistics.
Equivalency: an official transcript documenting successful completion of any Master’s degree from an accredited institution and transcripts documenting 24 semester units in the discipline at the upper‑division and graduate level, with a minimum of 12 graduate level semester units.
Other Requirements
A teaching demonstration may be required at the interview stage.
Adjunct positions are as needed, with no tenure rights and flexible hours.
Salary: Starting at $88.30 per hour.
