Sales Development Representative | Public Sector
Join Ramp’s Sales team as a founding Sales Development Representative in the Public Sector, focused exclusively on building Ramp’s presence in public sector markets. As an individual contributor, you will source high-value deals through outbound outreach, qualify prospects using consultative selling, and build sales opportunities while collaborating closely with leadership, product, marketing, and operations.
Base pay range $68,000.00/yr – $104,500.00/yr

About the Role As a founding SDR in the Public Sector, you will:
Source new Public Sector opportunities through outbound outreach.
Qualify prospects through consultative selling using BANT criteria.
Grow the top of the sales funnel via warm and cold outbound campaigns.
Research companies and add prospects to our outbound list.
Maintain accurate client relationship data within Salesforce.
What You Need
Experience working directly in the Public Sector/SLED space.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent listening skills and an energetic phone presence.
Comfortable with sales, prospecting, and marketing tools & processes.
Dedicated to tracking and improving performance and efficiency daily.
Deep interest in understanding business challenges.
A self‑starter with a high sense of urgency and ability to work within undefined processes.
Nice to Haves
Prior experience in customer-facing or sales roles.
CRM experience, preferably Salesforce.
Financial services sales experience.
Experience at a high‑growth startup.
Understanding of financial services.
Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year university.
For candidates located in NYC or SF, the pay range for this role is $76,000 – $104,500. For candidates in all other locations, the pay range is $68,000 – $93,500.
