Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Program – Information Technology
The Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Program (SLP) is a fast‑track rotational program that accelerates the development of future leaders. It is geared toward recent graduates with Information Technology internship experience and a relevant business degree who are passionate about a long‑term career in Information Technology.
IT SLPs work in four 6‑month rotations in different facilities across the United States or, in unique cases, internationally. Each rotation offers project assignments that allow participants to become familiar with how we do business and contribute to the success of that business.
Locations: New Britain, CT or Towson, MD.
Responsibilities
Conduct business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses to align information technology solutions with business initiatives.
Work with business users to define and analyze problems and align the most suitable technical, application or configuration solutions.
Solicit, develop, document, and manage requirements and provide detailed design and business rules to support the requirements throughout the project life cycle up to and through change control.
Review system test plans and system tests modules before implementation.
Create, review, and deliver end‑user documentation (user guide, process flow charts, training materials) and training for accuracy.
In upgrades, monitor production performance enhancements and system integrity with end‑users.
Develop detailed implementation and upgrade project plans in conjunction with other account team associates.
Ensure that documentation is updated when change requests are approved for the project.
Provide input on processes, procedures, or new approaches.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement, monitor, and optimize AI‑driven solutions, leveraging advanced analytics and automation tools to enhance business processes and drive innovation within the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer/Information Science, or a related field.
Knowledge of basic principles, methods, technologies, and practices of a professional/technical field.
Basic knowledge of system development methodology, project management system architecture and analytical/problem‑solving skills.
Demonstrated leadership experience. Ability to execute with the highest degree of integrity and accountability.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business, from the shop floor to senior management.
Self‑motivated individual who strives for excellence and continuous improvement through analytical problem‑solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with executives.
Demonstrated problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Experience using various computer applications including Microsoft Excel, Access and other applications included in the Microsoft Office Suite.
Details
Must be willing to rotate work assignments, projects, and teams every 6‑12 months throughout the program. Relocation for a minimum of one rotation may be required.
This hybrid role will begin in either New Britain, CT or Towson, MD.
