Bonquois Postdoctoral Fellow in Women’s History
Full‑time, twelve‑month position (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027) at the Newcomb Institute of Tulane University School of Medicine.
The role is for a historian whose research is intersectional and engages with the history of women and/or gender in the U.S. An emphasis on 20th‑century women’s history in the Gulf South is preferred, though not required.
Responsibilities
Conduct original academic research in women’s and gender history.
Publish and present research findings at public lectures.
Meet regularly with the Newcomb Institute Director of Research for mentoring.
Collaborate with one to two undergraduate research assistants.
Partner with the Newcomb Archives to produce an exhibit or other public‑facing product related to the fellowship work.
Expectations
Commit to a full‑term, full‑time schedule.
Engage with the interdisciplinary intellectual community at the Newcomb Institute and Tulane University.
Qualifications
Doctoral degree in history or a closely related field, with a strong focus on women’s history.
Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous, intersectional historical research.
Experience in public history or exhibit development is a plus.
