Senior Human Resources Generalist
Join The Village of St. Edward as a Senior Human Resources Generalist. In this role, you will support the HR function and overall department, ensuring alignment with business and employee needs.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary resource for management and employees on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution.
Counsel and coach managers on performance issues, documentation, and corrective action processes in line with policies and employment laws.
Participate in disciplinary discussions, investigations, and terminations, ensuring consistent and compliant handling.
Support management during coaching conversations, performance evaluations, and career development planning.
Lead or co-facilitate associate conflict resolution meetings to promote a positive work environment.
Help develop and reinforce HR best practices and company culture through daily interactions.
Create, organize, administer, and maintain employee engagement activities.
Conduct stay and exit interviews, analyze data, and make recommendations.
Support onboarding, new hire orientation, and employee recognition programs.
Collaborate with the HR team on strategic initiatives and process improvements.
Administer HR strategic goals, procedures, and policies.
Assist with development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; coordinate employee communication.
Maintain accurate personnel records for current and former employees.
Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
Provide training for management.
Administer FMLA, disability, ADA accommodations, and other leave programs, ensuring accurate documentation.
Monitor compliance with employment regulations.
Document employee relations, benefits, leave, and investigations per best practices and legal standards.
Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional standards.
Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
3–5 years of HR experience, focused on employee relations and performance management.
Healthcare setting experience preferred.
Current PHR or SHRM‑CP certification preferred.
Deep understanding of federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, and employee relations.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver timely outcomes.
Professional discretion in handling sensitive employee matters.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence and guide leaders at all levels.
High emotional intelligence, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance; ability to travel locally.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
