859363 LVER GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS CONSULTANT II
Location: Fort Myers, FL. Salary: $4,583.34 per month; $55,000 annually. Employment type: Full‑time, Career Service.
Overview Position serves as a Local Veterans’ Employment Representative (LVER) responsible for developing service delivery strategies for veterans, educating staff, and supporting the Job for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) program.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor local policies and procedures to ensure JVSG compliance.
Provide training to staff and partners on JVSG regulations and best practices.
Review and improve programs, services, forms, and reports.
Conduct outreach to employers, organize job search workshops, and participate in career fairs.
Advocate for the hiring of disabled veterans and assist veterans in securing and retaining employment.
Manage capacity‑building programs for employers and veterans.
Provide operational oversight on JVSG implementation and training.
Create and maintain services for veterans, including intake, assessment, counseling, and placement.
Coordinate with federal contractors and conduct compliance audits.
Consult with state and local officials on JVSG matters and perform other duties as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of veteran employment regulations, federal and state guidance.
Understanding of laws governing veterans’ preference and re‑employment rights.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Effective communication, customer service, and presentation skills.
Ability to conduct interviews, work independently, and prepare analytical reports.
Problem‑solving and team collaboration skills.
Qualifications
Level 2 security background screening required.
Completion of JVSG training within 18 months of hire.
Certification as a Workforce Professional Tier 1 within one year.
Ability to travel locally with own transportation; may require weekend or evening work.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Social Services, Education, or related field.
Professional experience in employment security, job placement, or related areas.
Registered in the Employ Florida labor exchange system.
Experience training veterans and advocating for disabled veteran hiring.
