Summary First Security Bank is seeking a professional, energetic and team-oriented individual to join our team as a Retail Banker.

If you are passionate about serving the Arkansas community, this role offers a dynamic environment and the chance to grow into a Retail Banking Specialist.

Hours of Availability Regularly scheduled hours: 40+ hours per week. Mon‑Fri: 7:30 am – 5:30 pm.

Rotating Saturdays: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm (typically 1–2 per month).

Extended work hours may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Process deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, issue cashier’s checks, secure proper identification and follow retail policies.

Verify checks and determine proper funds availability; identify counterfeit currency.

Review and verify customer transactions and balance cash using retail platform.

Receive mortgage, consumer, and other loan payments.

Promote bank services and products, refer clients to appropriate personnel.

Adhere to daily opening and closing procedures; manage cash and vault security.

Maintain currency and coin supply; process coins to vault and balance coin machine.

Assist with night deposits, mail deposits and ATM deposits.

Complete Currency Transaction Reports (CTR), Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR), Identity Theft Reports, and Red Flag Reports (SIRF) as required.

Communicate with department managers about activity or outages exceeding $50; aid in outage resolution.

Assist internal customers and executive management as needed.

Process special requests such as U.S. Savings Bond redemption, account closures, and safe-deposit box procedures.

Maintain quality service, answer customer inquiries, and assist retail staff with unusual transactions.

Identify fraudulent transactions and review concerns with management.

Obtain training and become proficient in wire transfers.

Maintain customer privacy and confidentiality of account information.

Operate computer equipment, telephone, scanner, and copier.

Hold a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for on-site work and branch travel.

Attend retail training classes as assigned.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Upon Successful Training

Develop specialized Retail Banking Specialist skills, including consumer and business customer profile building.

Process debit card requests and explain card services.

Assist customers with address changes, account maintenance, reconciliations, and disputes.

Update identification and handle debit card disputes.

Open and close accounts as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

1–2 years of post‑secondary education or experience in cash handling, customer service, or banking preferred.

Position begins as a Retail Banker with intent to promote to Retail Banking Specialist.

Reliable transportation and ability to travel between branches.

Proficiency with Outlook, Word, typing, 10‑key, and internet usage.

Willingness to demonstrate Core 5 values with customers and coworkers.

Supervisory Responsibilities None.

Physical Demands The position requires visual acuity for reading printed materials and screen content, ability to articulate clearly with customers, and mobility to work in an office setting.

Hand and finger dexterity are needed for operating keyboard and office equipment.

Ability to lift coins and currency up to 50 lb.

Branch travel may expose employee to outdoor conditions.

Mental Demands Maintaining attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality in high‑volume tasks.

Ability to use basic math, read and interpret documents, and draft routine written communications.
