Major Duties

Writes comprehensive communications and marketing plans identifying support tactics; creates content for Defense Logistics Agency stakeholder communities, and formats and disseminates electronic and social media for delivery through a digital content management system (CMS).

Utilizes a variety of methods to develop a targeted, intentional communication plan.

Establishes best practices and business case for the use of new and existing internet‑based, electronic, and/or social media tools in agency recruitment efforts.

Develops standards, guidelines and protocols for the design, production and delivery of social media and website programs compliant with federal accessibility standards.

Develops and writes a variety of informational materials for management describing the status and effectiveness of digital media footprint.

Develops strategic solutions to build brand consistency and audience interest in agency employment opportunities to drive applicant increases and develop campaigns that re‑enforce DLA as an “employer of choice”.

Utilizes a strong command of verbal and written communications to accurately reflect the DLA Human Resources Director's vision and guidance to various publics.

Qualification Summary To qualify for a Strategic Communications and Content Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support specialised experience: One year of specialised experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS‑14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialised experience equivalent to the GS‑13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time‑in‑grade, time‑after‑competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut‑off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialised experience includes developing command‑level strategic communications through analytical methods, interpersonal and public relations practices, developing strategies to implement long‑term communication plans utilizing integrated media options, developing speeches, papers, correspondence, newspaper and magazine articles, web pages, and other social media tools utilizing integrated strategic communication outlets to communicate Command‑level initiatives to interagency and external publics. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programmes (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organisations. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
