Apply for the contract teaching position at York County Community College. In partnership with Great Bay Community College, we seek educators to deliver in‑person instruction in Electricity and Electronics at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY).
BARGAINING UNIT/SALARY LEVEL:
Non‑benefitted contract paying $1,855.00 per 40‑hour class.
Summary:
York County Community College (YCCC), in partnership with Great Bay Community College (GBCC), seeks passionate and knowledgeable contract instructors for in‑person teaching assignments in Electricity and Electronics at PNSY. These roles support high‑quality, hands‑on technical education for Navy personnel and civilian staff.
Mission: Develop an educated, skilled workforce that supports socioeconomic mobility and community prosperity. Candidates should embody YCCC’s values of respect, collaboration, and integrity, creating an inclusive learning environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery: Deliver high‑quality, engaging in‑person instruction, applying teaching strategies for diverse learning styles and utilizing technology to enhance instruction.
Course Design and Preparation: Prepare course materials (syllabi, assignments, assessments), ensuring they reflect current knowledge and practices.
Student Engagement and Support: Foster a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive classroom, provide timely feedback, and be available for student support.
Assessment and Evaluation: Evaluate student progress with formative and summative tools, inform instruction, and maintain accurate records.
Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with academic and workforce partners, maintain respectful communication with students and staff.
Curriculum Development: Suggest improvements and updates to content and teaching approaches.
Professional Development: Stay current with teaching strategies and subject matter updates.
Compliance and Reporting: Maintain attendance and performance records; submit documentation timely.
Commitment to Student Success: Support learner achievement and continued success in education and workforce pathways.
Delivery Method In‑person at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
Start/End Dates Year‑round; two‑week classes run year‑long, from Noon to 4:00 PM on site at PNSY.

Minimum Qualifications
Appropriate academic or industry credentials for desired teaching position.
U.S. citizenship required due to work at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
