Overview Develops and deploys integrated solutions aimed at modernizing, consolidating, and coordinating the departmental and enterprise applications, systems and platforms. Determines how existing applications, legacy systems, databases, web interfaces and/or hardware logic operating on multiple platforms. Performs database analysis, codes and tests middleware routines. Participates in component and data architecture design, software product evaluation and buy versus build recommendations. Knowledge of enterprise applications and troubleshoots issues.
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
Exempt – Full-Time – Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Must be available to work additional hours as needed
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services
Responsibilities
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office 365, Java, .Net, web services, and APIs
Stays current on emerging application software technologies, as appropriate for the application(s) supported
Participates in application evaluation, development, design, installation, configuration, upgrades and maintenance
Manages development of applications and information System
Monitors application for compliances to IT standards and policies.
Intermediate knowledge of methods and techniques for evaluating software application requirements
Participates, along with other IT team members, in requirements definitions, identifying end-user operational and customer service delivery needs
Assists in developing functional specifications used to procure and deploy specialized applications
Provides technical expertise and assistance in designing and developing applications
Provides support for application development and implementation for medium to high complexity
Works closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions
Align solutions with business and IT strategies that comply with the organization's architectural standards
Analyzes system capacity and modifies procedures to solve interface problems. Install and configure business software applications.
Plan, oversee and document all aspects of assigned intermediate sized projects using enterprise project management tool
Work closely with management and stakeholders to ensure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule.
Provides reports for customers and staff using enterprise reporting tools such as SAP Crystal Reports, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Microsoft PowerBI, IBM Cognos, Tableau, and Dashboard Gear
Organize and conduct conference calls and prepare document based on status meetings
Collaborate with cross functional teams to maintain efficiency, consistency and achieve successful implementation of application
Create standard procedures for application
Prepare and present change management items
May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s Degree (AA/AS); or Two (2) year technical certificate
Three (3) years of experience
Required Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements
A valid driver license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver license within 90 days of hiring
