Overview
Operates computer to add, delete and retrieve information in database on inmates. Gathers or compiles technical information related to inmate custody and movements and statistical data for reports. Updates and logs inmate movements (e.g., transfers, releases). Notifies chain of command of inmate status, reviews information on inmates for accuracy and enters data into jail management system including, but not limited to: criminal charges, detainers, mail, updates movement within facility, disciplinary actions, and keep separate information from other inmates.
Responds to inquiries from staff, inmates, and the general public, in person or by phone.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to type 25 wpm.
Ability to become LEADS certified.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of records management, state laws and office rules governing handling of inmate records. Knowledge of FCSO policies, procedures, and SOPs. Understanding of decimals, percentages, and fractions. Skill in technical writing or business communication. Skill in typing, operation of computers, fax machine and photocopier. Ability to deal with variety of variables in familiar context. Be able to gather, collate and classify data. Be able to handle sensitive inquiries from officials, inmates, and the general public.
Unusual Working Conditions Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended or intermittent periods of time.
