Base pay range $125,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr

General Position Summary The RSM will be responsible for sales activity with Commercial Connector Group customers within the West region. This will include sales channel management activity in the West region. The RSM’s primary duties will be to focus on the identification and acquisition of new business opportunities for the design in and sales of JAE connector products to suitable customers within the West region. Secondarily, lead the strategic direction and management of distributors within the region in regards to QBR’s, target account penetration, technical assistance and evaluation. The individual will be involved in all aspects of managing target accounts. Regional travel for customer visits and sales channel management will be necessary. The candidate must be self‑motivated, encompass a passionate attitude towards collaborative team work and have prior successful experience in developing and managing direct reports.

Major Accountabilities

Primarily responsible for sales activities focused on achieving sales growth targets and budgets.

Recognize new business opportunities by identifying and developing strategic initiatives based upon customer need, trends, markets and opportunities.

Direct, manage and promote distributor activity using QBR’s within the assigned region.

Manage and mentor the development of the Sales Engineer. Provide guidance and assistance in the follow up of customers for closure of new business opportunities.

Review all sales and distributor activity on a continuous basis. Recommend and implement strategic actions.

Update and maintain CRM for all activities within the region.

Achieve growth goals while maintaining strategic initiatives.

Create and implement strategic penetration plans that achieve booking and sales objectives.

Plan and implement primary customer and target account sales activities in an efficient and effective manner.

Provide forecasts for existing customers and projections for target accounts when requested.

Provide support and assistance with all sales related matters.

Monitor competitive activity and provide feedback.

Effectively interface with marketing, engineering and International Operations Division to achieve sales growth targets and budgets.

Provide technical support within the region by interfacing between customers and JAE Engineering dept.

Represent JAE when necessary at any relevant trade shows, associations or meetings.

Maintain and update a current base of knowledge and sales material on all new and existing JAE products.

Duties and Responsibilities NBO development for achieving sales growth targets and budgets – 50%

Direct and manage Sales Engineer (including account calls) – 30%

Budgeting/Forecasting/Planning – 10%

CRM System Management – 10%

Core Competencies

Proven ability in sales and business development in connector or component industry. Experience and strong knowledge of the connector or component design in process along with the connector industry.

Proven track record managing, evaluating and motivating Sales Engineers and distributors.

Strong relationship building capability and management of global customer projects.

Ability to work independently, execute sales objectives, and positively influence decision makers.

Strong ability to deliver meaningful presentations and convey technical information at all levels.

Possess sales process knowledge, acute technical product knowledge, time management and multi-tasking, executive management skills.

Experience utilizing CRM and outlook system communication.

Qualification Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent experience.

Experience

Minimum of seven years sales experience in connector sales or a related component sales field.

Possess a proven track record for penetrating primary targets and achieving sales growth.

Direct report(s) development, and distributors influence to produce NBO revenue generation.

Business Travel Travel within the region will be required approximately 50% of the time.

Physical Demands This position requires lifting up to 40 pounds occasionally.
