Position Overview The
Strategic Sourcing Specialist
supports sourcing initiatives and develops cost-reduction strategies for various service lines. This role focuses on optimizing vendor performance, ensuring quality products, and executing sourcing strategies to lower costs and meet benchmark pricing standards.
Key Responsibilities Provide guidance to department management on sourcing priorities and initiatives. Negotiate local and national purchasing agreements to achieve best-value outcomes. Build and maintain strong relationships with end users, vendors, GPOs, and distribution partners. Evaluate operational and contractual conditions to ensure compliance with sourcing award strategies and procurement requests (RFx). Maintain measurable performance metrics for all contracting activities. Research alternative suppliers to strengthen supply chain resiliency. Conduct periodic evaluations of supplier performance to ensure service benchmarks are met. Collaborate with Legal Counsel to resolve or prevent contractual concerns. Exercise independent judgment to solve non-routine sourcing issues under general supervision.
Qualifications Required Skills & Experience Minimum of
2 years
of experience in procurement, contract negotiation, analytics, or vendor/supplier management. Proficiency in
supply chain contracting strategies ,
strategic sourcing ,
spend analytics , and
benchmarking . Understanding of
financial and economic sourcing ,
capital equipment ,
clinical products , and
purchasing services . Experience with
contract lifecycle management , including drafting, reviewing, and executing agreements. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills & Experience Previous experience within a
healthcare setting .
