We are looking for a Mid-Market Account Manager to join the Intellectual Property team at Clarivate. In this role, you will effectively manage an existing list of accounts to achieve retention and growth, while also pursuing new business within a specified geographic region. This is a great opportunity for an energetic Account Manager who enjoys engaging in new business development, not solely on account maintenance. Specifically, this role supports the patent market, representing solutions including Patent annuities, IPMS (IPFolio, Foundation IP, TIPMS), IPAdmin services, Translation services, Patent drafting software (Rowan Patents), and other related solutions.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience related to the job.
5+ years of sales experience.
2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office and Salesforce for client and opportunity management.
Experience in Intellectual Property services and solutions.
It would be great if you also had...
Sales, account management, and presentation skills.
Well organized, persistent, and motivated to overachieve against targets.
Understanding of solution selling and experience in selling based on 'value' rather than price.
A self-starter who is not afraid of taking initiative and generating ideas to find and grow new business.
Experience in Intellectual Property services and solutions is a significant benefit.
What will you be doing in this role?
Achieving/exceeding territory sales plans by meeting targets and expanding the business in the region/market.
Accurately forecasting and managing Salesforce pipeline while maintaining regular communication with management.
Working efficiently with customers and following Clarivate's sales cycle process in Salesforce.
Continuously learning about Clarivate and competitor products relevant to the market.
Participating in team meetings and sharing customer, product, and sales knowledge.
Maintaining adequate meeting volumes as defined by Sales Management.
Creating and updating account profiles, providing quotes, and building deals in Salesforce.
Developing confidence and trust with your core accounts while expanding your contact base.
About the Team
This role reports to the sales organization and is quota-carrying. The team has 7 members focusing on clients, both new and existing, using our patent products. We operate independently daily but collaborate to find creative solutions and share best practices. We aim to achieve over $6M in new business annually, with each member playing a key role. You will have the freedom to think creatively and collaborate across teams.
Hours of Work
Full-time, Permanent
This is a remote position supporting the Western Great Lakes Region—home base in Chicago, Minneapolis-St. Paul, or Detroit is preferred. Candidates with relevant experience and ability to travel to this region are encouraged to apply.
Up to 40% travel required (conferences, client meetings, annual sales meetings).
