Direct Counsel is seeking a

Commercial Real Estate Loan Review & Diligence Staff Attorney

to join a

leading national law firm

with a top-tier Real Estate Finance practice. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys on complex commercial real estate financings in a collaborative and flexible work environment. About the Role: The firm’s Real Estate Finance team is seeking a staff attorney with

5+ years of experience

representing lenders in connection with the

origination of commercial real estate mortgage and mezzanine loans . The attorney will play a key role in reviewing and analyzing loan files and performing due diligence on transactions involving all major commercial real estate asset classes. Key Responsibilities: Review and analyze

loan documents, opinions, leases, title policies, surveys, and other diligence materials

related to commercial real estate financings.

Identify and communicate potential issues with clarity and precision.

Collaborate with attorneys and support staff across multiple offices to ensure efficient and accurate transaction support.

Maintain exceptional attention to detail while managing multiple concurrent matters.

Qualifications: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (North Carolina or New York preferred).

At least

five years of experience

in commercial real estate finance, ideally representing institutional lenders.

Strong understanding of commercial loan structures and related due diligence.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits: This is a

non-partnership track

position. The anticipated base salary range is

$100,000–$430,000 , commensurate with experience, qualifications, and work location.
