By joining our Division of Motor Carriers as an Administrative Specialist Senior in Franklin County, you'llhave the opportunity to provide professional support to the division head, office or unit in developing,implementing and maintaining various complex programs, projects or activities; may supervise subordinateemployees; and performs other duties as required.
Summary of Responsibilities: Receive, evaluate, and effectively respond to information requests and complaints from the generalpublic, trucking industry stakeholders, other state agencies, and government officials. Address inquiriesthrough written correspondence or oral communication, ensuring timely resolution and professional servicedelivery. Provides interpretation and application of laws, rules, regulations, departmental policies, and stateand federal guidelines related to the International Registration Plan (IRP). Performs, processes and works withing the IRP online system to issue plates and cab cards required by theInternational Registration Plan. Engaging directly with customers in a professional, in-person capacity. Manage phone and email inquiries related to IRP, IFTA, and KYU scenarios. Ideal candidate will have experience in:
Processing and adjudicating application submissions. Conducting comprehensive, in-depth research utilizing multiple systems and software platforms. Proficient communication skills across telephone, fax, and email platforms. Multitasking and develop strategic solutions within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
