Power Field Applications Engineer (San Jose, CA)
We are seeking an experienced Power FAE to work out of our R&D headquarters in San Jose, CA. If you thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment, and are ready to shape the future of power management, we'd love to hear from you!
Core Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
The position will be responsible for supporting customers designs from start to finish and influence the direction of the company with defining future requirements. The role of an experienced Field Applications engineer is to be a trusted advisor and consultant for system level evaluation, simulation, design in and bring up of Empower solutions into customer systems. It includes developing board level power solutions ranging from demonstration platforms to custom solutions for a wide range of applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing high power, point of load (POL) solutions for SoC, processors and xPUs with experience in power integrity analysis.
Skills and Qualifications: BSEE required; MSEE in power electronics preferred 5-7 years of experience in Power Applications, Design, or Systems Proven track record of fostering long term relationships with strategic customers based on trust, expertise and professionalism Knowledge of DC-DC converter system design and analysis Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment Experience in PCB design and optimization (schematic and layout using Cadence Preferred, Allegro OrCAD) Experience using simulation and design tools including Spice, Simplis, ADS and other SI/PI tools. Experience in PDN and power integrity analysis a plus Knowledge of programming languages and tools for automated testing and prototyping such as python
