Strategic & Operational Leadership
Establish and lead the IT PO and Hardware/Software Renewal Center of Excellence and Project Center of Excellence managed service team, setting the vision, governance model, and roadmap for global PO process standardization and excellence.
Develop and implement operational strategies that improve speed, accuracy, and compliance in the technology purchase order lifecycle.
Partner with Global IT, Finance, Procurement, and Compliance functions to ensure alignment with enterprise sourcing policies, budgetary controls, and regulatory obligations.
Influence and collaborate on automation and digital transformation initiatives (e.g., ERP integration, RPA, AI-based validation tools) to streamline purchase order creation, approval, and tracking.
Technology Procurement & Licensing
Oversee the execution of hardware and software purchase orders, IT contracts, including T&M, Fixed Price, and Managed Services, and blanket PO chargebacks.
Ensure alignment with vendor master service agreements, enterprise license agreements (ELAs), and vendor contracts.
Collaborate closely with teams to ensure proper tracking, entitlement, and renewals of hardware and software assets.
Maintain compliance with contractual terms, including usage rights, audit clauses, and renewal timelines for key software licensing agreements.
Partner with Category Managers and Strategic Sourcing to ensure POs reflect negotiated pricing, terms, and supplier performance expectations.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Implement strong internal controls and maintain readiness for internal and external audits.
Collaborate with Finance, Procurement and IT partners to mitigate operational risks.
Maintain transparency and traceability throughout the technology procurement process, supporting the company's ethical and compliance-driven culture.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Business Operations professionals and analysts.
Foster a center-led culture of excellence, service delivery, and continuous improvement.
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the CoE and across cross-functional partnerships.
Define and monitor team KPIs, ensuring accountability and high levels of engagement.
Stakeholder Partnership
Act as a trusted advisor to global IT, Finance, and Procurement teams on technology purchasing, licensing, and governance best practices.
Build strong partnerships with internal business units to anticipate needs and drive proactive, compliant purchasing support.
Communicate performance metrics, process improvements, and risk mitigation updates to senior leadership.
Qualifications Education & Experience
10+ years of progressive experience in technology procurement operations within a pharmaceutical or regulated industry, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership or Associate Director-level role.
Demonstrated expertise in hardware and software procurement, including lifecycle management of enterprise software licensing agreements.
Experience managing or building a Center of Excellence (CoE) or global shared services function strongly preferred.
Technical & Professional Skills
Deep knowledge of procure-to-pay (P2P) systems and processes, with hands‑on experience using ERP and procurement tools such as SAP, Ariba, Fieldglass, Coupa, or Oracle.
Utilize Apptio to forecast and centralize hardware and software renewal costs, maintain accurate contract and financial data, and deliver transparent reporting that supports IT leadership in strategic decision-making and compliance.
Demonstrates strong financial acumen to oversee financial processes to ensure accurate forecasting and management of hardware and software renewals, supporting strategic decisions and maintaining compliance in technology spend.
Strong understanding of software licensing models (perpetual, subscription, SaaS, cloud) and asset management integration.
Proven track record driving process automation and continuous improvement (Lean Six Sigma certification preferred).
Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and change leadership skills within a global, matrixed organization.
