Overview
Human Resources Generalist for Grassi's client, VJ Technologies Inc. Responsibilities include a full range of HR, safety, and compliance for about 60 employees across four companies located in nine states. Base pay range: $70,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr.
Responsibilities
Full responsibility for all HR recordkeeping, including maintenance of personnel folders, HRIS, policy documents, and related documentation for multiple organizations.
Share workload and supervise the Human Resources Administrator in day-to-day HR activities.
Work with Management to fill open positions via active recruitment and management of related documentation and third parties.
Conduct new employee orientations covering benefits, company policies, and safety guidelines.
Process new hires, terminations, transfers, and other employment status changes; manage related documentation.
Oversee timekeeping systems for the entities.
Administer benefit programs; liaise with carriers; oversee life insurance, disability, leave, and claims processing.
Provide support to employees with benefit-related matters as required.
Assist HR Director and HR Administrator with annual open enrollment; update HRIS; oversee enrollment; coordinate payroll changes and carrier updates.
Generate and oversee Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) and regulatory filings (AAP, EEO-1, VETS-100, 5500, OSHA logs).
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment and safety regulations.
Assist in administering the annual Focal Point Review Program and oversee the Employee Morale program.
Ensure compliance for Bohemia, NY and East Haven, CT locations with health and safety policies.
Manage Learning Management System (LMS) for applicable companies and staff; provide compliance and soft-skill training annually.
Assist employees with visa matters for international travel as needed.
Undertake various non-HR compliance and administrative duties as required.
Up to 10% travel, including monthly day trips to the sister facility in East Haven, CT, and occasional visits to other locations.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline.
Five to seven years of HR Generalist experience in an industrial manufacturing or engineering environment.
Knowledge of NY State and Federal employment laws and insurance regulations.
Familiarity with OSHA workplace regulations.
Experience with an HRIS system and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with employees at all levels, vendors, regulatory agencies, and customers.
Professional demeanor with diplomacy and strong interpersonal skills.
Team-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment.
Non-Essential Skills
Knowledge of other state employment laws and multi-state employee support experience.
Experience developing an Affirmative Action Plan.
Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now, Deltek Replicon Timekeeping, TalentLMS, or MS Dynamics/AX/D365 ERP systems.
Established training skills.
Physical & Mental Demands
