SYTIS is looking for an individual that would thrive in an fast-paced startup that is growing quick. The Human Resources Generalist provides day-to-day HR operations support for SYTIS. This role coordinates recruitment and onboarding, supports payroll and benefits administration, maintains accurate HR records, assists with California labor-law compliance, and keeps the office running smoothly. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, discreet, and service-minded, with hands-on experience in HR coordination and a strong grasp of California requirements. HR Operations & Compliance

Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS data with strict confidentiality; prepare new-hire, status change, and termination documentation. Complete employment eligibility verification (Form I-9) and track required re-verifications; ensure required postings/notices are up to date. Assist with California wage-hour compliance tasks, including timekeeping audits, review of daily/weekly overtime, split-shift and reporting-time pay when applicable, and meal/rest break tracking. Prepare accurate data changes for payroll (new hires, rate changes, differentials, bonuses, garnishments, reimbursements); partner with the payroll provider to meet processing deadlines. Coordinate workers’ compensation incident reporting and Cal/OSHA log updates; help schedule safety trainings and track completion. Track required harassment-prevention training (Gov. Code §12950.1) and other compliance courses; maintain training records. Help maintain compliant job postings, including pay scale disclosure for positions posted in California. Talent Acquisition & On/Off-Boarding

Coordinate full-cycle recruiting logistics: draft/post requisitions, screen resumes, schedule interviews, manage candidate communications, and conduct reference checks. Prepare offer letters and new-hire packets; facilitate onboarding/orientation and provisioning (accounts, badges, equipment). Conduct exit logistics (final timecard collection, asset return checklist); collect feedback and ensure final pay paperwork is routed promptly. Benefits Administration Support

Guide new hires through benefits enrollment; process qualifying life events and terminations; liaise with brokers/carriers on basic issues. Support open enrollment communications and data audits; maintain accurate benefits records; route COBRA administration to third-party administrator if applicable. Employee Relations & Office Administration

Serve as a friendly first point-of-contact for HR and general office inquiries; triage and escalate sensitive issues appropriately. Draft notices, memos, and policy updates; schedule meetings, maintain calendars, and coordinate company events and trainings. Uphold SYTIS values and a positive, inclusive workplace culture. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience. 3+ years of hands-on HR coordination/administrative experience, preferably in California. Working knowledge of California and federal employment regulations (e.g., wage & hour/overtime, meal & rest periods, paid sick leave, harassment-prevention training). Experience supporting payroll/timekeeping and benefits processes; proficiency with Microsoft 365 Strong written/verbal communication, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
