Solutions Engineer, Software (Java/AWS/Guidewire) Join Liberty Mutual Insurance as a Solutions Engineer focused on Java, AWS, and Guidewire solutions. You will drive configuration and integration solutions within Guidewire, contributing to a modern Unified Insurance Platform.

Location & Work Arrangement Hybrid (2×/week) in Plano, TX or Columbus, OH.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of system, technical, and product standards aligned with business goals within an Agile delivery framework.

Design and configure Guidewire modules tailored to client business requirements.

Architect and implement integrations between Guidewire and external systems using the Guidewire Integration Framework and APIs.

Collaborate in hands‑on sessions, code reviews, demos, and cross‑team knowledge sharing to design, develop, and configure innovative solutions.

Analyze complex technical challenges and propose comprehensive solutions with detailed architecture diagrams and design documentation.

Partner with architects, stakeholders, and engineering teams to continuously evolve the platform design.

Apply expertise in observability, infrastructure as code, Agile methodologies, and software testing best practices.

Demonstrate strong ownership and independence in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

Identify and recommend opportunities for process and technology improvements to drive continuous enhancement.

Show flexibility and adaptability in dynamic, fast‑paced environments.

Maintain a solid grasp of modern frameworks and emerging technologies.

Technical Problem Solver

Document solutions and create deployment guides ensuring resilient software delivery.

Prioritize client needs by translating business requirements into technical solutions.

Drive continuous improvement through proactive identification of performance and quality enhancements.

Champion best practices, use of out‑of‑the‑box solutions, and future‑proof architectural designs.

Skills

Proficiency with AWS, Cloud Foundry, or Kubernetes.

Experience with SOAP/REST services, messaging systems, and batch processing.

Extensive experience designing, architecting, and integrating complex Guidewire solutions.

Knowledge of event‑driven architectures and API‑first microservices design.

Strong programming skills in Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.

Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless architectures.

Ability to develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline).

Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP) and Integration Gateway (IG).

Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years of IT experience across diverse technologies.

Deep understanding of the P&C insurance domain.

Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on Guidewire experience.

Proven track record of platform modernization using Guidewire, RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms.

Strong initiative, time management, and collaborative work style.

Experience with IAM, KMS, and compliance for PII/PCI data.

Expertise in API and event‑driven architecture and observability tools.

Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field (or equivalent experience).

Guidewire Certified Associate or Ace Developer certification (preferred).

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or business discipline.
