Analyze manufacturing system performance to identify undesirable effects and opportunities for improvement. Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints. Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate constraints, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals. Create process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show manufacturing processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key metrics. Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on factory capacity, Manufacturing Technology insertion, infrastructure improvements, obsolescence mitigation, and the integration of new capabilities. Partner with project managers and factory support functions to modify the factory footprint and layout of factory equipment as needed. Support program contract proposals, business case development for future investments, supplier assessments, and Make/Buy/Where analyses. Qualifications you must have
Typically requires: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics. Preferred majors are: Industrial Engineering and Systems Engineering. Minimum of 5+ years of applicable experience. Experience/Education with CAD software The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Clearance.
