We are working with a growing construction company seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to oversee all financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong construction accounting experience, particularly in project-based environments, and the ability to provide financial insight that drives operational and strategic decisions.
Base Pay Range $100,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting in alignment with company goals.
Oversee financial reporting, including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and capital expenditures to ensure liquidity and financial stability.
Develop and implement financial policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures to promote accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Provide data-driven financial analysis and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
Partner with operations teams to evaluate project costs, pricing models, and profitability metrics.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and construction accounting standards.
Coordinate and manage annual audits and liaise with external auditors and financial institutions.
Monitor working capital and financing strategies to support growth and project execution.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in financial leadership, preferably within the construction, manufacturing, or utilities industry.
Strong understanding of construction accounting, project costing, job cost analysis, and contract management.
Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies that support organizational success.
Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
Proficiency with construction accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage 300, Procore, or similar).
