The
Regulatory Analyst
ensures
oil and gas operators on University Lands’ mineral leases
comply with
Texas regulatory and lease provisions . The role is primarily about
data management, compliance tracking, and communication
with operators to make sure all required documents and filings are accurate and up to date.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor compliance of operators on University Lands’ acreage with state and lease regulations.
Collect, analyze, and input data from operators on activities such as well permitting, drilling, completions, and operator changes (using Texas Railroad Commission forms).
Maintain well records and track lease validity.
Issue penalty invoices for non‑compliance.
Educate and support operators in using University Lands’ data systems and filing requirements.
Handle correspondence and reporting related to oil & gas regulatory filings.
Qualifications Minimum:
OR equivalent experience (each year of oil/gas land, right‑of‑way, or title work can replace one year of college, up to 4 years)
Preferred:
B.S. degree in a related field
5+ years of experience with
Texas Oil and Gas Regulatory forms
Experience working with the
Texas Railroad Commission (RRC)
Skills & Attributes
Strong communication (verbal and written)
Solid understanding of the
oil & gas industry
Highly organized, self‑motivated, detail‑oriented
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
Knowledge of
University Lands
operations and RRC forms is a plus

Hours:
40 hours per week
Travel:
Minimal to none
