Under general supervision, the MLT is responsible for performing routine clinical laboratory tests in molecular lab testing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of results to support patient care. Receive, label, store and prepare patient specimens for analysis. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment. Perform daily quality control (QC) and participate in quality assurance (QA) programs. Enter and verify test orders/results into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) with accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. Interpret QC data, reject unacceptable specimens, alert supervisors/clinicians to critical values or unusual results. Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the laboratory environment; follow biosafety, infection control, chemical safety and other applicable safety regulations. Communicate effectively with team members, clinicians and other staff; may assist in training junior staff or students. Work Environment & Schedule

Most work is in a clinical laboratory environment with bio-hazardous materials, requiring protective equipment and adherence to safety standards. Part-time evening or weekend shifts typical. Facilities Culture & Your Role

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or equivalent recognized program. Strong computer skills and familiarity with LIS/data entry systems. Excellent attention to detail, organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to follow procedures, maintain record accuracy, and use lab equipment safely and effectively. Preferred Qualifications

One or more years of clinical laboratory experience. Certification by a nationally recognized organization (e.g., American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification – ASCP) Familiarity with molecular lab testing.
