About the Job Job Duties:
90% - Educational Activities: Responsible for teaching five courses per academic year; course release is considered for teaching faculty involved in significant service commitments
Supervise graduate or undergraduate teaching assistants who support the class, if applicable
Advise undergraduate or graduate students, as needed, in close consultation with Student Services Staff
May undertake course design or redesign in areas of the candidate's expertise
Collaborate with colleagues on course material or other course-related educational initiatives, as appropriate
Hold office hours to provide additional support to students
10% Departmental service and outreach: Serve on appointed departmental committees
Participate in outreach activities
Attend applicable departmental meetings
Qualifications Required Qualifications
PhD in Computer Science or closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of teaching and course design experience.
Distinguished record of academic achievement, specifically, documented evidence of high-quality teaching.
Preference will be given to applicants (i) whose area of expertise are in software development and engineering, and human-computer interaction, (ii) who have at least two years of teaching and course design experience, and (iii) who have evidence of teaching excellence.
