Under the general direction and supervision of the Deputy Chief Counsel, the Legal Office Administrator provides guidance and support for planning, organizing, and managing staff activities for the San Diego Legal Office. The incumbent will serve as the first‑line supervisor to a Staff Services Manager I (Office Manager) and other administrative staff. The role functions as the San Diego Legal Office Administrator, performing guidance and support in the areas of budget, procurement, administrative and personnel management to support the San Diego Legal Office.

Working Conditions The position is located in a climate‑controlled office under artificial light. Due to periodic heating and air‑conditioning issues, building temperature may fluctuate. Employees may be required to travel for meetings, training, and other functions.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum eligibility to hold the classification (staff services manager II). Eligibility requires passing the staff services manager II state examination.

Additional minimum qualifications are listed in the Class Specification. All applicants must meet the minimum qualifications stated in the Classification Specification(s).

Desirable Qualifications Candidate must have strong organizational, communication, and time‑management skills, proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft Office, attention to detail, flexibility, and problem‑solving abilities. Experience developing and fostering positive relationships and solving challenging problems is also desirable.
