is seeking a skilled Network and Computer Systems Administrator to support the

Knowledge Management team

at the facility. This role involves administering and maintaining secure servers, networks, and software, ensuring reliable access for users, supporting high-performance computing systems, and assisting in the implementation of system and network security measures.

Position Overview The System Administrator will assist with the operation, maintenance, and security of local knowledge management systems, high-performance Linux computing clusters, and research computers running Windows and Linux operating systems. This role requires troubleshooting network and system issues, responding to user requests, maintaining backups, and implementing software and security updates while adhering to FAA security regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain servers, software, and networks under minimal supervision.

Monitor system security, apply updates and patches, and assist in responding to system security assessments.

Respond to customer service requests by analyzing and resolving technical problems.

Ensure users can securely access databases, software, and HPC systems.

Monitor and implement updates to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) based on current security regulations and orders.

Troubleshoot and resolve network and system issues reported by customers or other stakeholders.

Assist in administering the

High-Performance Computer (HPC) , including cluster/node management, backups, software updates, and network connectivity.

Train and assist government employees and contractors in the use of HPC systems; prepare documentation such as system requirements, configuration management notes, and user guidance.

Assist the Knowledge Management team in maintaining research computers with Windows and Linux OS, implementing new software, and updating system infrastructure.

Collaborate as a point of contact for infrastructure, network, and connectivity updates.

Qualifications Education:

Option 1:

B.S. or higher in System Administration, Computer Science, or a related field with at least 2 years of experience administering secure onsite systems and networks.

Option 2:

High school diploma with at least 6 years of experience administering secure onsite systems and networks.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years assessing and maintaining system and network security, ensuring authorized user accessibility in compliance with FAA.

Minimum 2 years implementing new system and network security requirements.

Minimum 2 years with Microsoft Windows Server OS administration.

At least 2 years as a system or network administrator.

Experience with Linux operating systems, configuration management, and implementing security requirements.

Minimum 1 year administering multi-node Linux HPC systems and operating cluster management software.

Problem‑solving experience to troubleshoot and resolve user service requests with minimal assistance.

Teamwork and interpersonal communication experience working with colleagues, management, and users of varying technical expertise.

Ability to meet deadlines and respond to requests according to defined schedules.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem‑solving skills.

Knowledge of network security, system administration, and high-performance computing.

Proficiency with Windows Server, Linux OS, and cluster management tools.

Effective communication, documentation, and training abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Work Location & Schedule Location:

Onsite in Oklahoma City, OK Schedule:

Monday through Friday, standard business hours. Approx 9.5 hours per week. Holidays:

No work on federal holidays or other federally designated non‑work days.
